How to choose

A hub with one route table is a flat network with extra steps; compare whether the service can segment spokes (separate route tables, or a policy), how on-premises circuits and VPNs attach, and what the per-attachment and per-gigabyte prices do at your traffic volume.

When not to use

The hub routes; it does not filter. Anything that reaches the hub reaches whatever the route table allows, so a firewall in the path is a separate product and a separate decision.
