k6

Grafana k6 on EL 10 from the vendor's release, checked against the published SHA-256, pinned to a version, installed as root's binary in /usr/local/bin. Original role for EL 10, live-tested with podman on Rocky Linux 10.

No package worth the name. EL 10 carries no k6, and a third-party repository is one more key to trust. This role takes the release from k6.io, has Ansible's get_url refuse the asset unless its SHA-256 is the published one, and the live test checks the asset on disk against the same published value again.

Pinned. k6_version is what gets installed, kept in a directory of its own so the checksum file and the asset it names stay together. A newer release is a variable change and a run; the same version is changed=0.

Proven to run. The live test runs k6 run --quiet --no-usage-report /tmp/k6-p/script.js and expects "checks_succeeded...: 100.00%" - the binary ran all the way to the point where it needed something this host does not have.

A run that passes and a run that fails. The live test runs a k6 script with three iterations and a checks threshold at 100% (it passes: checks_succeeded...: 100.00%), then a script whose check cannot hold, which k6 ends with exit code 99, the code CI keys on. No HTTP target is needed for either; http.get against your service is the same script one line longer. k6 reports usage to Grafana on each run; the role exports K6_NO_USAGE_REPORT=true for login shells and the live test reads that back. The binary sits under k6-v<version>-linux-<arch>/ inside the tarball.
